Unique works of art and impressive exhibitions
The complex was built in the 18th century, commissioned by Prince Eugene of Savoy. The upper Belvedere served as an exhibition venue for imperial collections during the time of Maria Theresa. As a result, belvedere palace considers as one of the first public museums in the world. Today there is an impressive collection of Austrian works. Among other things, you will find mostly works such as “the kiss” by Gustav Klimt or other paintings by unique artists such as Egon Schiele.
